He has always been ahead of the curve, and his “deep dives” are well worth the monthly donation.

Risking sanctions implies there is some form of "Risk" to begin with. The DC bar is as Leftist and Trump hating as any institution in the country. I could list out all the attorneys and actions within the DC legal and judiciary world that should've had disciplinary actions brought against them, but I don't feel like crashing Substack's servers tonight. Clinesmith got a month suspension either to keep up appearances or as a goof (I can't decide which). FusionGPS' attorneys have ZERO to worry about and they know it ... that's why they did it.

Well you could be 100% right and I'll point out if the lawyers for PC thought they had a winning case they would not have resorted to this. In a world where it's all corrupt, we'd also have never found out they even attempted this.

I predict that if this unethical behavior results in an investigation (a big if), the investigation will fall into the permanently pending black hole and no one alive today will live to see the results. When the ethical rules are as clear as they are here, and the behavior as blatantly unethical, the only available recourse for the disciplinary body is delay.

You’re absolutely right. 110 percent. Those Fusion lawyers know they won’t be sanctioned.

I always wonder about sanctions and similar rules meant to avoid abuse of procedures. Like a witness who lies and says "I can't recall" during depo or something. Important rules that have a very lopsided game theoretic evaluation.

Perkins Coie - I think they own or run the Democrat Party. So no court will get in between the dog and the lamp post on this one.

It would be nice to see one of these firms go down in flames and see the partners sitting in jail. Not holding my breath, but it's a nice thought.

"Ethics" are a joke when it comes to DC attorneys. These sharks play by their own rules and the Courts are complacent in enabling these shysters in facilitating their backroom deals. All the while the media just ignores the egregious lies and illegal activities by those trying to "make this go away."

The courts might not see it in such a flattering light.

Given the light sentence for Mike Avenatti, the Democratic presidential hopeful, endlessly promoted by the empty headed cable stations, the "Courts" seem pretty ambivalent about addressing most D.C. lawyers crimes. Working class violators usually get maxed out for far less violations of criminal statutes. The FBI lawyer who sought to frame Carter Page for political reasons and put him in jail got less that a slap on the wrist. D.C. lawyers are a breed apart and are treated way too well when caught violating the law. Imagine putting an innocent American in jeopardy of jail time to weave a false political narrative while working for a law enforcement agency. Then getting away with almost nothing in the way of punishment. Protecting their own is the order of the day.

Nothing will happen to them. The Courts and the Corruptocrats/Deep Swamp critters will see to that. One shyster, Clinesmith, got a slap on the wrist, Nancy Pelosi insider trades willy-nilly, Eric Swalwell shags a Chinese spy named Fang-Fang, and Feinswine employed a Chinese spy as a driver for 20 years WHILE her Hubby scammed Militaty Contracts via her hand. Senate Ethics Cmte slapped her hand and the rest continue on.

The Corruption in DC is so deep that the roots go all of the way down to Hell. If we pulled DC out by the roots, chances are Ted Kennedy, LBJ, and a whole herd of Democrats would be clinging to them.

He is considering suicide as we speak. The Clintons are advising him as to his and his families options. The contagion of Clinton inspired suicides defies statistical probability. Coincident -- Sure!!

If only the leftists would consider prosecuting other leftists. Good story, but in the end nothing will come of this.

".... would not be a 'healthy thing' for anybody" is code for being "Epsteined/Arkancided", best Alpha Bank get "them" before they, Alpha Bank execs, are found to have committed "suicide" with two shots to the back of the head.
