Not buying it. Why are you so hell bent on defending our disgustingly dishonest FBI. I want to know if they’ve brought in the capital policewoman for questioning. As soon as the Blaze broke that story the FBI went radio silent and then a few weeks later they announce this poor guys it. They. Are. Lying. And covering up for the Capital Police and the coup.

There is a lot of competition for attention these days. I get it..

It’s not fair to assign motivation for curiosity. All bloggers ponder aloud, seek resolutions for inconsistencies and oddities in the official story.

It’s not like the government hasn’t earned the reputation of untrustworthy.

The effort to exonerate Brian Cole relies on "gait analysis" and subjective impressions of his "confidence," while ignoring a mountain of hard evidence. Here is the narrative of the case, contrasted with the skepticism:

The skeptics paint a picture of an awkward, mentally vulnerable young man who lacks the "confident stride" of the figure seen on the J6 surveillance tapes. They argue that his "goofy walk" and the way he holds his phone during a traffic stop prove he couldn't be the operative who evaded the FBI for years. To them, the government has snagged a "convenient" suspect who is simply too detached to be a bomber.

Techno Fog and the DOJ present a far more clinical reality. While skeptics analyze how he walks, the FBI analyzed what he bought and said. Cole didn't just look like a suspect; he owned the crime. He spent months methodically purchasing the exact pipes, end caps, and timers used in the devices. He didn't just "ping" near the site; his car and phone moved in perfect synchronization with the hooded figure on camera.

Ultimately, the defense’s focus on "body language" is a distraction from the 1.5-hour confession where Cole personally detailed the construction and planting of the bombs. He spent that 90-minute window providing "non-public" details—such as the specific mix of galvanized and black end caps and his inspiration from Northern Ireland's "Troubles"—that only the builder would know. As Techno Fog points out, Level 1 Autism doesn't make one "incapable"; it often grants the very focus and pattern-recognition needed to carry out a meticulous, multi-month plan. The skeptics are looking at the man's posture; the prosecution is looking at his receipts.

I would like to see the video of Cole explaining how he built the pipe bombs. If they don’t release it in its entirety I will not believe them. The entire story is so contrived it is laughable. The shoes were “thrown away” because they were worn. The FBI can find the receipts for pipes and caps and kitchen timers but no receipt for those sneakers?

Why was the FBI watching the home of the capital policewoman’s neighbor days after January 6 but were pulled away without explanation …. Cite Kyle Seraphin.

I have 1000 more questions that will never be answered because they need this to go away. I did not vote for this.

I don’t know if the video will be released in its entirety, but rest assured his attorneys will see all of it, and anything exculpatory would be compelled into the record. As to your other concerns, skepticism is understandable given the FBI’s uneven transparency and past investigative failures. That said, gaps or oddities in public disclosures don’t automatically invalidate the underlying evidence; they usually reflect what can be safely released without compromising sources, methods, or pending prosecutions.

Reasonable people can question the narrative and still wait for facts tested in court rather than filling the void with assumptions. If the government’s case is weak or contrived, it will collapse under adversarial scrutiny. That process matters more than whether the public finds every detail satisfying.

The only thing I'll say is that two things can be true at the same time. Cole certainly could be the pipe bomber, and it certainly could also be true that we aren't getting the complete story of how he did it.

My skepticism is entirely focused on why it took the FBI four years and a change in administration to do a vigorous review of evidence they apparently have had for quite a while, and also why we're suddenly hearing about the use of cell phone tracking of Cole after officials up to FBI Chief Wray stated such data was unusable.

Thanks for your insight Techno. I had no idea Massie and the Blaze were so skeptical of this arrest. I hope they make their way out of the rabbit hole and utilize their analytical skills on determining why our premier law enforcement agency/FBI took five years to find this “mastermind”. I think that’s the real story that’s been neglected.

I’m also curious how Cole’s legal team plans on defending him and if the DC Jury and Judge Pool will come to the rescue of the defendant.

As I've comment on X, the biggest problem with The Blaze article(s) is they are focused on minor inconsistencies (like the gait analysis) and ignoring the big rocks. (And many, including me, have called on Steve Baker who wrote the initial article naming a Capitol Police Officer as the bomber to name his gait analyst. He refuses. And not insignificant, The Blaze has taken down that article.

Cole is 5'6" and wears glasses - same as the suspected pipe bomber.

Why was Cole's cell phone anywhere near the Capitol in the first place when he lives 35 miles south?

Why was his vehicle capture in a license plate reader entering DC near the Capitol the evening of J5?

How do they explain the purchase of bomb-making components, and additional bomb making materials recover from his house during the SW?

And the elephant in the room - the confession. Elon Musk and Bill Gates have Autism spectrum disorder - nobody would insinuate they are too mentally ill to be interviewed by law enforcement. And I'm betting based on my training and experience, the recorded interview contains many facts already known the the FBI that Cole confirmed. So it's not a "false confession."

The problem with the conspiracy theorists, like The Blaze, that want us to believe the FBI framed a poor mentally ill black kid, is none of them will tell us how exactly they did, who ordered it, and how hundreds of personnel from probably six agencies are all in on it and nobody is talking.

Agree with your thesis and i am a conspiracy theorist or so wikipedia tells me

Ok, I commented below and afterwards, went back to Revolver News and saw they are still working - found this from early December.

Mark Mullin (a guy with “Cong Cred” imo, says we’re only seeing a small percentage of what is coming. Hopefully early Spring will bring more info.

Technofog, my unresolved questions have little to do with The Blaze issues you raise. Mine have more to do with missing footage, inconsistent messaging from USSS, USCP, and FBI, impeccable timing coinciding with breach of Capitol grounds leading USCP away from what became the massive need, the woman who claims there was no bomb on J6 then found a bomb when she returned to the area, the apparently incompetent USSS bomb sniffing dog, the USSS and USCP allowing innocent civilians near the ‘active’ bomb AFTER it was discovered, etc. (I’m sure I have missed a few.).

The best thing the government can do to resolve public skepticism and help earn back some trust would be to bring who I consider the foremost expert in all things pipe bomb to support the prosecution- he happens to be in the emply if Uncle Sam right now:

Darren Beattie currently serves as the Senior Bureau Official in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State.

I get the feeling when it comes to J6 -and many of these other unresolved issues- the government doesn’t actually realize the wealth of information that already has been made available by independent journalists and investigators.

So either they themselves just aren’t aware or they are and are hoping that enough time has gone by that we have forgotten.

It feels to me line they wanted a quick win so Bongino looked at the available evidence and VOILA! “We’ve caught the scoundrel everyone! Score another win for Trump!”

Then Bongino resigns? No. Dead fish stink and so does this.

How about those gallows? That another one. All the info was there- the government is a wiz at capturing phone data but darn it, that area where they set up, walked off to get coffees and return- sorry, that data apparently disappeared. But we got those nasty insurrectionists!

Wasn’t it the Blaze and Thomas Massie who pushed the DC officer as THE suspect in a BOMBSHELL report?

Janeleslie's avatar

Yes. Capital policewoman. Who was present on January 6 shooting at January sixers with pellet guns in their faces. And she testified at the sham Jan 6 show trial. She’s an ideologue piece of garbage. And she’s being protected.

Lentinim's avatar

Yes. But my point is they were both wrong then. Why trust them now?

Janeleslie's avatar

Who says they were wrong.

after this I am going to run a virus scan and also clean out my cashe.. having issues.

Yes I saw that Vemeo walking of Cole.. and IT COULD HAVE HAPPENED THAT WAY.. but people behave differently when they are sneaking around.. doing stuff they should be doing.. I also and this is my opinion.. only... based on some other revelations about Cole's life.. I think he falls into an autistic spectrum.. normal intelligence but not normal in many ways.. so who knows. I do think he did place the bombs.. but was not sure in his own mind why he was doing that.. maybe someone else told to it.. as prank.. it is so strange to me.. I haven't given it much thought. I am sure his Parents have..:) so.. and I also do not consider him part of the J6 ... Episode.. so I don't think it is appropriate to call him the J6 Bomber.. that is sort of like clickbait (not on your part. Techno),, that is just the Media these days.. between ZOHRAN and the Maduro raid.. there is a lot going on.. I need to get stuff done and haven't not been able to get it done.:)
