This case is orders of magnitude greater than Watergate. It involves agencies established to protect US citizens and the legal foundation of our country that are proving partisan and corrupt to their core.
The fraudulent accusations of Russia Collusion undermined geopolitical stability as well as internal election processes. The lies echoed on the media represent the actions associated with Color Revolution and soft coups.
A lesser charge might bring the house of cards down like, Al Capone toppling because of tax evasion. Murder, bootlegging, bribery, extortion, and money laundering never got pinned on him. Now, that type of outcome is not enough though.
In this case, I hope Durham uncovers enough dirt to generate the will and leverage to clean house, not just create a scapegoat like Ghislaine Maxwell. The corruption is a hydra. It is not enough to target a lesser part or even a head. There is a group of actors who worked to bring down our government for their gain and goals they were not elected to pursue. For their greed and arrogance the world suffered.
Durham's process does inspire cautious optimism. Hopefully, that confidence is rewarded in time with thorough enough proof to do the good we need.
