It’s said that Special Counsel John Durham is still writing, if not finishing up, his report detailing the findings of his multi-year investigation.
As always, the leaks – and the hits – are preceding the report.
There’s an obvious and tired trick from the media when it comes to the discovery of abuses by federal officials during the Russiagate scandal, which stretched from before the opening of Crossfire Hurricane to the conclusion of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. I’m sure you’ve seen it. The formula is quite simple: downplay or ignore what has been uncovered and focus on what hasn’t been found.
We’ve seen it in The Washington Post from their dim-witted national columnist Philip Bump, whose previous writings disclosed a utter lack of knowledge about FISA warrants.
And now we see it from Charlie Savage, Adam Goldman, and Katie Benner at The New York Times.
