On Friday, Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed David Weiss, US Attorney for the District of Delaware, to serve as special counsel “for the ongoing investigation and prosecutions referenced and described in US v. Hunter Biden, as well as well as for any other matters that arose or may arise from that investigation.”
Garland’s announcement was made three days after Weiss requested Special Counsel status. Why did Weiss make that request?
