Debt Ceilings and the Coming Judgment

I have an idea for a book.
A short book – maybe 100 pages. It’s about generational responsibilities. Trusteeship. The idea that our society, and the manner in which we live and how we govern, must respect the sacrifices of the past by preserving our shared inheritance for the future.
It’s an idea (really, an old idea) that has taken hold since the birth of my daughter last year. It tugs at me every time I see institutions being eroded or altogether destroyed. It’s something I can’t escape. I might say it’s almost part of me now.
And I can’t help but think of it now the Senate has passed the debt ceiling bill.
